What is Startup Weekend ?
Startup Weekend is an event licensed in the U.S. and took place 500 times last year around the world. Startup Weekend gathers entrepreneurs, developers, designers, and business people in a 54 hour event (2.5 days) where participants pitch their ideas in the first day (Friday), form teams, and execute their ideas to turn them into reality throughout a weekend. At the end of the weekend, participants present their ideas to a list of prominent judges and get the chance to win valuable cash prizes.
Startup Weekend took place in Beirut year 2010 and had more than 300 participants in an unforgettable life-experience for the winners and non-winners.
Startup Weekend will also have the presence of H.E. Minister of Telecom, Mr. Nicolas Sehnaoui who will distribute the prizes, give a speech, and have a focused user-group with students and entrepreneurs to discuss the future of technology in the country. This is the perfect place to demand your internet rights, and force a change in the country!
